Bring our Commune forward together!

Our Commune thrives on the commitment of its residents. Through the principle of resident participation, we offer you the opportunity to actively contribute to shaping communal life. That’s why, with the new legislative period of 2023, the concept of ResidentTeams and Committees was introduced. Unlike the legally regulated commissions, these teams and committees are more open and flexible – anyone can take part, regardless of elections or political mandates.

ResidentTeams are 100% voluntary, and you can choose to get involved even for a short time. You don’t need to be 18 years old, nor do you need to live in the Commune. Anyone who is active in an association or works here can participate. There is no maximum number of members, and the main mission is to implement concrete actions within a defined budget on the ground.

Committees function similarly to the ResidentTeams – as independent working groups. These committees may also include members from other institutions, etc.

The ResidentTeams and Committees are topic-specific groups in which you have the opportunity to plan and implement projects together with actors from the Commune administration and other institutions within the commune. Over the past few months, several great projects have already been developed and carried out! Do you remember the water tour from our NatureTeam, the Books, Crime & More project from our Culture Team, the workshops and film afternoons for our youngest resident from the Niedz4Kidz team, or the Mëttesdësch for seniors from the Niedz4Seniors team? These are just a few of the projects that were implemented in collaboration with dedicated residents from our teams and committees – and we are already looking forward to many more exciting projects and events to come.
