As a commune, we want to actively promote volunteering. Voluntary engagement not only strengthens local associations but also fosters social cohesion in our community by encouraging encounters between associations and volunteers.
This was also the goal of our Rentréesfest on 14 September 2025: associations had the opportunity to present themselves and look for suitable volunteers for their needs. In the coming months, the associations of our commune will present themselves on this page in short videos and talk about their specific needs for volunteer support.

Agence du Bénévolat
"Volunteering is about giving the time you want (a little, a lot or passionately) to support an opportunity and help others. It's also about having fun, meeting people with the same values or commonalities, sharing good times and doing something you enjoy based on your interests and the opportunities you care about."
Do you already know the Agence du Bénévolat? The Agence du Bénévolat is a non-profit organization that promotes volunteering in Luxembourg. It connects interested individuals with associations and offers information, training, and support for anyone who wants to get involved.
For our commune, this means in concrete terms:
- promote volunteering among the residents of Niederanven
- raise the profile of associations among volunteers and vice versa
- support associations with training courses on volunteer management (on request from the Agence du Bénévolat)

How can you benefit as a volunteer?
The voluntary sector is full of opportunities to help and activities to do. The Agence du Bénévolat can help you find the right voluntary work for you, based on your interests, your talents and the time you want to dedicate to volunteering:
- Guidance in your volunteering (digital platform to find an assignment)
- Information on volunteering, from finding the right project to making the most of your commitment
- Help you discover the organisations near you and the solidarity initiatives
- Train you in the "soft-skills" of volunteering (on request)
How can you benefit as an association?
Since 2002, the role of the Agence du Bénévolat has been to promote and develop volunteering in Luxembourg by encouraging, facilitating and enhancing voluntary work by:
- Putting you in touch with volunteers (digital platform for posting your missions)
- Providing inspiration through the initiatives and projects of other committed actors
- Providing information on volunteering and the latest news from the voluntary sector
- Training in setting up an association, managing a non-profit organisation and volunteering
