Did you know that according to the regulations from April 2014 on ''door-to-door selling'' in Luxembourg, you can refuse every type of door to door selling at your home by, for example, affixing a "Non au colportage" sticker ("No door to door selling") at your doorbell or at your letter box. If you don't have such a sticker, you can still ask the sales representatives to leave and/or not to come back. In this case, the representative must always respect the refusal.

However, the Directorate for Consumer Protection has observed a fair amount of undeclared and uninsured activity, which often results in faulty workmanship or a significant increase in the initial price agreed after the work has been carried out.

In the interests of consumer protection, the dossier of the Directorate for Consumer Protection gives us some useful advice on how to protect ourselves against these unfortunate situations.

Note that ''Non au colportage'' stickers are available at the reception desk of the Commune administration, but can also be ordered via the online form of the Directorate for Consumer Protection.
